A powerful feature of Guardian is the ability to duplicate a provider's assigned privileges to
another provider's record. This makes it easy to process groups or providers with similar or
identical privileges without having to "start from scratch" every time.
To duplicate a provider's privilege, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Tools menu and select Duplicate Privileges.
2. The Duplicate Privileges screen will appear,
3. Keeping in mind that the purpose of this screen is to copy one provider's privileges and assign
them to a second provider, select the name of the provider whose privileges will be copied from
the providers list.
4. Click the Copy From button (
) . This will cause the selected name to appear in
the Copy From text box.
5. Select the name of the provider who will have the privileges assigned to them (the "copy to"
provider) in the Providers list and click the Copy To button (
). This will cause the
name of the selected provider to appear in the Copy To text box.
In the Step 3 section of the screen there is an option to select what type of copy action you would
like to perform:
The first choice (which is automatically selected as the default choice) is to replace the "copy to"
provider's privileges with the "copy from" provider's privileges. In this example, this choice will
unassign any privileges currently assigned to Samual Nixon and assign an exact copy of Donnie
Abraham's privileges to him.
The second choice is to add Donnie Abraham's privileges to Samual Nixon. If Samual Nixon
already has privileges assigned, those privileges will remain assigned along with all of Donnie
Abraham's privileges.
6. Click on the Copy Privileges button (
) .
The privileges that are assigned to the "copy from" provider are now also assigned to the "copy
to" provider.
