Bundles

The Bundles tab (screen) is used to assign individual privileges to bundles. These bundles, in turn, can be assigned to many providers using the Assignment screen. This eliminates the need to assign each individual privilege to each provider since assigning a bundle will automatically assign all of its privileges. For more information on how bundles are used, see Bundles .

Assigning a privilege to a bundle is similar to assigning a privilege to a provider.

The Bundles tab is made up of four main sections highlighted below:

Bundles

The Bundles section at the top of the Bundles tab lists all bundled privileges that are currently in Guardian. Selecting a bundle in this list by clicking on its name will cause all of the privileges that are currently assigned to it to appear in the Assigned Privileges section.

Available Privileges

The Available Privileges list is identical to the Assignment tab's available privilege list. All privileges currently in Guardian are shown in this list.

Assigned Privileges

The Assigned Privileges list shows all privileges that are currently assigned to the selected bundle. When a bundle is assigned to a provider, these are the privileges that will be assigned with it.

Controls

The Controls provider a way to easily add and remove privileges to and from a bundle.

graphic WARNING: Changing a bundle changes it for all providers it is assigned to. If you wish to add or remove a privilege for only a single provider, this should be done on the Assignment Screen.

graphic You may wonder how to edit, add, or delete a bundle in the Bundles screen. The Bundles screen is only used for assignment of privileges to a bundle, just as the Assignment screen is only used to assign privileges to a provider. To edit bundles, use the Privileges screen .

graphic Through careful planning, bundles can be used to make repetitive assignments much quicker. Since it is possible to assign a bundle to another bundle, this makes it easy to create custom "building block" bundles that can be combined in various ways to handle situations where there is significant overlap in privileges.
